Our mission is to distribute meals to those in need…
with food from the heart.
The Heart2Heart Project prepares nutritious vegetarian meals using all natural whole food ingredients.
We are careful to make them cost effective while being as healthy as possible. Meals are then packaged and frozen, ready for delivery.
Where are meals distributed?
Fred’s Place, Tweed Heads
“During the Covid pandemic… we have seen our numbers increase dramatically. Last year at this time we were providing service for 60-80 community members, now we are providing services for 80-100. Many of which are struggling families with young children, who are having a hard time with increased cost of living and rents”.
Fred’s Place is a St Vincent de Paul homeless support service for singles and families who find themselves in need or who are experiencing homelessness. Located at 9 Boyd Street, Tweed Heads. It provides a basic needs drop-in service between 8.30am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday. The facility has showers, laundry facilities, staffed kitchen, internet and telephone, lounge area, inside and outside areas to socialise.
Tweed Palliative Support Op Shop
Located at 5 Queen St Murwillumbah, Tweed Palliative Support Op Shop are the main source of financial support for Wedgetail Retreat Hospice. Full of clothing, accessories, furniture, bric-a-brac and household goods, they are now able to provide free Heart2Heart Project meals to their community in need.
Liberation Larder, Byron Bay
Liberation Larder, a not-for-profit organisation providing food for those in need from grown, rescued and donated produce, is the perfect fit to distribute Heart2Heart healthy meals. You can find them at the rear of Byron Bay Community Centre Fletcher St Byron Bay.
Resilient Lismore
Resilient Lismore is a community recovery organisation, supporting flood affected people with rebuild and recovery activities. The team provide advice and assistance including Back to Home Grant and Rental Assistance applications. Located 215 Keen St Lismore.
Murwillumbah Community Centre
Located in Nullum Street, Murwillumbah the non-profit Community Centre provides a diverse mix of social support services and facilities including a Food Pantry as well as free meals via Nullum House. Frozen meals may be obtained Monday – Thursday 9am-4.30pm and Fridays 9am-12.00pm.
“Our service has seen an extraordinary rise in the number of individuals and families accessing our centre requesting support for basic needs. The lack of affordable housing and the increment in private rentals is forcing whole families to having to rely on community donations.”
Byron Shire Mullumbimby District and Neighbourhood Centre
The MDNC provides an accommodation hub, free counselling through Listening Space along with food parcels, frozen meals, free tea and coffee and now our vegetarian ready-to-eat meals.
Mary’s Place, Ballina
Opened by St Vincent de Paul Society, Mary’s Place provides a number of support services to their local population with one of the highest homelessness rates in regional NSW. Services include light refreshments, showering facilities, outdoor space for socialising, computer access, medical and nursing care, Centrelink engagement service, legal and housing support, and psychological and counselling services. Located at 64 Treelands Cres Ballina.
Nothern Rivers Woman’s and Childrens Sevices, Lismore & Goonellabah
NORWACS is a feminist, community-based charity that provides health and wellbeing services for the diversity of women and their children, in the Northern Rivers region. Located at 60 Uralba St Lismore and 488 Ballina Rd Goonellabah
